How Internet and Mobile Connectivity can Improve Refugee Well-Being and Transform Humanitarian Action.
Connectivity is not a luxury. For refugees, it’s a lifesaver. At the most basic emotional level, they desperately need to keep in touch with family members, some of whom are sometimes still faced with the risk of violence or persecution. Access to the latest information allows them to be alerted to new threats, such as outbreaks or the spread of conflict, or to know where to find food, drink, clothing, shelter and medical care. In the longer term, this could mean accessing online training to improve their job prospects and find work more easily.
